Veteran HSE Expert Adebola Bada Chairs SPE New Board, To Lead 16 other Dynamic Oil & Gas Players

The Port Harcourt Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) has constituted a 17-man board to saddle the affairs of the association’s 2020/21 board year.

The board will be chaired by the experienced Operations Safety lead of the international Oil and Gas Company, Total, Adebola Bada.

The non-for-profit organization promoting “the exchange of technical knowledge within the upstream oil and gas industry”, made this known via a communiqué released to its members.

In his acceptance speech, the incoming SPE S103 (Port Harcourt) board Chairman, Mr Adebola Bada, revealed that SPE has a global membership of more than 150,000 in over 140 countries.

Adebola noted that the huge figure makes it pertinent for the new board members to commit themselves to fulfill the mission of enhancing technical and professional competence among members.

He opined that the new board will “commence with structures” and sustain the foundation laid by the immediate past board to ensure increase membership and engagement.

He assured nominees who could not make it to be part of the board that the new board has a strategic plan for inclusiveness that will see them acting in various capacities, stressing that the Port Harcourt Section of SPE is bigger than most sections in the world.

Adebola said the new board will commit themselves to the roadmap of “Excellence; Engagement; E-technology and Leadership” at the face of COVID-19 realities, Inflation and Climate Change.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) new board which is made up of 58% of the 2019/20 ex-officials, will hold its first monthly board meeting virtually next week Tuesday, 8th of September 2020.
